Position: Europe Technical Support and Sales Specialist
Time: Full time – 40hrs a week

We are seeking a hard-working, professional candidate with an engineering, mechanical or field service background. This individual will join our Global sales team. As a Technical Support Specialist, you’ll be the first line of contact for customers and distributors who need help with our products or services. You’ll troubleshoot issues, provide clear solutions, and ensure problems are resolved promptly and professionally. On a day-to-day basis you will be working from home, working closely to support our distribution network in marketing, technical sales, business development and support.
Main responsibilities:
This technical sales position has four main areas of focus:
· Technical Service
Develop a thorough understanding of our products technical, service and maintenance requirements. Be able to assist with technical support remotely or in person to distributors or end users. Provide training to our current distribution network and new distributors. Escalate complex issues to higher-level support or engineering teams when necessary.
Provide installation and maintenance services to end users when required.
· Supporting existing distributors
Maintain, develop, and retain relationships with our distributors through regular communication, support them with technical inquiries in a timely manner. Communicate their feedback to the International Marketing Director and to the Global sales team in headquarters in Fukuoka, Japan.
· Acquiring new distributors
Assist in adding new distributors to the current distribution network in Europe. Provide training to them and facilitate communications and coordination between them and the Global sales team in headquarters in Fukuoka, Japan.
· Business Development
Develop a thorough understanding of our products and the target market and present our products to prospective customers in those events, including clinics, universities and research centers. Follow-up with leads and introduce them to the distributors in their region. Manage this process.
Identify direct prospective customers in markets whereas there is not a prospective or existing distributor. Introduce them to our products and coordinate the Global sales team in headquarters in Fukuoka, Japan in order to close any opportunities.
· Account Management
Identify opportunities within our existing customers, capitalize on these, identify threats relating to our existing customer base and to our target market so these can be avoided, regularly monitor the satisfaction and performance of each customer account, increasing their value where possible through increased sales
To support all these areas of responsibility, the successful candidate will be required to travel within Europe each month and globally occasionally. They will need to be in constant communication with the distributors and direct customers. They will make visits to end users’ sites and distributor offices and attend local and international industry conferences.
Requirements:
· A BSc degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a proven experience in mechanical field service
· 4-6 years recent experience in technical sales or field service/support roles post-graduation
· Must have professional and confident communication skills
· Be willing to learn and pay attention to detail
· Ability to travel internationally on a monthly basis
· Ability to work independently
· Fluency in English language is a must.
· Proven experience demonstrating dependability, responsiveness, responsibility, integrity and collaboration.
Preferred skills:
· Fluency in additional languages.
· Experience in Life Science market or Assisted Reproductive market
· Experience in Microscopy is a plus
Candidates will be required to demonstrate examples of their application of these skills in previous roles. Development within the business will be available and is strongly encouraged. Therefore, an eagerness to progress and a positive, proactive attitude are also prerequisites.
