Software Engineer

About the role We're hiring for an AI content platform that's building tools to help people create at scale. We're looking for a Software Engineer (junior to mid-level) to design, build, and ship features across the product. You'll join a remote-first engineering team working on real product surfaces used by a fast-growing user base, where shipping clean, reliable code matters far more than where you sit. This is a hands-on role with room to grow — you'll own features end to end, learn from experienced engineers, and have a genuine say in how the product is built.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain features across backend services and APIs
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and take part in regular code reviews
• Collaborate with product, design, and ML teams to turn ideas into working software
• Debug, monitor, and improve the performance and reliability of production systems
• Contribute to technical decisions, architecture discussions, and engineering practices
• Take features from requirements through to deployment, owning quality along the way
• Help maintain a healthy codebase through refactoring, documentation, and tooling

What we're looking for

• 1–4 years of experience building software, or equivalent project/portfolio work
• Strong fundamentals in at least one language (Python, TypeScript, Go, or similar)
• Familiarity with version control (Git), automated testing, and CI/CD workflows
• A solid understanding of databases, APIs, and how web services fit together
• The ability to break problems down and work through them methodically
• Clear written communication — essential for an async, remote-first team
• A genuine appetite to learn, take feedback, and grow as an engineer

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) or containerisation (Docker)
• Exposure to AI/ML products or working alongside ML and data teams
• Familiarity with event-driven systems, queues, or high-throughput services
• Open-source contributions or side projects you're proud of

• Base salary of $95,000–$150,000, set by experience and skill, plus equity in an early-stage company
