Junior Designer – Internal Communications_Contract | Part-Time (20–30 hours/week) | Fully Remote_East Coast time zone preferred
We are supporting a client with ongoing internal communications needs and are looking for a Junior Designer to support clean, professional, internal-facing design work. This role focuses on clarity, structure, and consistency rather than marketing or social content.
This is a strong fit for someone who already has a full-time role or freelance workload and is looking for flexible, asynchronous design work that can be completed during evenings or weekends.
Role Overview
This position supports internal communications and operational materials used within the organization. The work is functional, structured, and professional in tone.
Design aesthetic aligns with healthcare, SaaS, or construction/industrial-style environments. Not consumer-facing or trend-driven.
Responsibilities
- Design internal presentations (PowerPoint and/or Google Slides)
- Support internal announcements and communications
- Create and update one-pagers, PDFs, and internal documents
- Apply consistent layout, typography, and visual hierarchy
- Translate written content into clear, digestible visuals
- Work within established templates and brand guidelines
Required Experience
- 1–3 years of design experience (in-house, agency, or freelance)
- Strong fundamentals in layout, spacing, typography, and hierarchy
- Experience working on internal, corporate, or operational materials
- Comfortable executing within existing brand systems
- Able to work independently with minimal oversight
Tools & Skills
- Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop
- PowerPoint and/or Google Slides (required)
- Figma experience is a plus, not required
Schedule & Availability
- 20–30 hours per week
- Fully remote
- East Coast time zone preferred for overlap
- Flexible schedule (nights/weekends acceptable)
- Consistent availability and reliable turnaround expected
