Accounting & Finance Expert (AI Training)About The Role What if your expertise in accounting standards, financial reporting, and financial modeling could directly shape how AI handles the financial workflows that drive global business? We're looking for experienced accountants — CPA or CA qualified professionals, senior accountants, and controllers — to evaluate and improve AI-generated finance content, ensuring it meets the rigorous standards that real-world accounting demands. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No AI background needed — just deep, hands-on knowledge of financial workflows and a sharp eye for accuracy.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Project-Based Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: Flexible hours, 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Review AI-generated content on accounting standards (US GAAP, IFRS, and AASB) for technical accuracy and completeness
  • Evaluate AI outputs related to financial reporting, financial statement preparation, and regulatory compliance
  • Assess AI-produced financial models — including DCFs, valuations, and Excel-based models — for correctness and real-world applicability
  • Identify errors, misstatements, and gaps in AI-generated accounting guidance and financial analyses
  • Provide structured, detailed feedback to improve how AI understands and communicates finance concepts
  • Create and review sample financial scenarios, journal entries, and workflow examples that teach AI proper accounting practices
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Experienced accountant with hands-on knowledge of financial workflows (CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or equivalent qualification/experience)
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles — US GAAP, IFRS, and/or Australian Accounting Standards — and their practical application
  • Familiar with financial statement preparation, period-end close processes, and general ledger management
  • Comfortable with financial modeling concepts — DCFs, comparable company analysis, and Excel-based models
  • Detail-oriented with a methodical, accurate approach to reviewing technical content
  • Clear written communicator who can explain complex accounting concepts precisely
  • No prior AI or tech experience required

Nice to Have

  • Active CPA or CA certification
  • Experience with ASX reporting or public company accounting
  • Background in audit, tax, or advisory at a professional services firm
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) or accounting software (Xero, MYOB)
  • Experience with advanced Excel modeling, VBA, or financial planning & analysis (FP&A)
  • Familiarity with cross-border accounting standards
  • Prior experience reviewing, writing, or editing technical finance content

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, project-based work
  • Make a direct impact on how AI understands and performs accounting and finance tasks used by millions
  • Leverage your professional expertise in a new, high-demand field
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new finance-focused projects launch
