Public Policy Economist (AI Training)

About The Role We're looking for experienced economists with a public policy background to help shape how AI understands and reasons about real-world economic issues. Your expertise will directly influence the quality of AI-generated policy analysis — making these systems more rigorous, accurate, and useful for the world. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You set your own schedule and work at your own pace.

What You'll Do

• Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to public policy and applied economics questions
• Assess the quality of economic reasoning across topics like regulation, welfare programs, fiscal policy, and market design
• Identify errors in logic, gaps in analysis, or misleading conclusions in AI outputs
• Provide structured, detailed written feedback to improve clarity, rigor, and real-world accuracy
• Validate AI-generated policy scenarios and recommendations against sound economic principles
• Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments

Who You Are

• 3+ years of experience working or teaching in public economics, applied economics, or economic policy
• Strong command of policy analysis frameworks and economic tradeoffs
• Able to critically evaluate written economic arguments and identify weaknesses
• Comfortable providing detailed, constructive written feedback
• Self-motivated and reliable when working independently

Nice to Have

• Graduate degree in Economics, Public Policy, or a related field
• Professional background in government, think tanks, or policy research organizations
• Familiarity with AI systems or content evaluation workflows
