About The Startup

FreeAppStore is building a new kind of app ecosystem: a curated collection of free, browser-based applications that anyone can use instantly without downloads, subscriptions, ads, accounts, or paywalls.

Our mission is to make high-quality software accessible to everyone while helping indie developers build and distribute apps using modern open web technologies.

We are currently developing productivity tools, educational apps, creative tools, AI-powered utilities, social/community concepts, and experimental web experiences — all running directly in the browser.

Role Overview

As a WebApp Developer Volunteer, you will collaborate with the team to design, build, and improve real web applications used by people globally.

This role is ideal for aspiring developers, students, indie makers, and anyone looking to gain hands-on experience working on modern web products in a collaborative startup environment. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while learning modern development workflows and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve browser-based web applications
• Build responsive and user-friendly frontend interfaces
• Collaborate on full-stack application development
• Assist with AI integrations and automation features
• Contribute to reusable components and app architecture
• Support performance optimization and testing
• Work with modern web technologies and open-source tooling
• Collaborate remotely with other developers and contributors

About You

• Basic experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
• Familiarity with React or modern frontend frameworks

• Able to work independently in a remote environment
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Curious, proactive, and creative mindset

Internship Reference Letter / Certificate

Contributors who remain actively involved for at least 10 weeks and successfully help deliver at least one completed app/project may receive an internship reference letter or certificate of contribution.
