Project Lead

Overview:

Our client is a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry and they are looking to add a Project Lead to their expanding team. Our client are rolling out a major Shop Floor Integration program using Ignition SCADA/MES across multiple sites and this is why this role has come up.

This role will handle coordination, planning, and issue escalation without the full weight of a traditional Project Manager, while staying deeply grounded in site-level work. The role is fully remote with travel to Europe and other sites globally a prominent part of the role.This is intially a 12 month contract subject to renewal based on business needs.Responsibilities:

• Will join a global team of 5-6 and support a project within Digital Transformation to roll out a Shop Floor Integration Layer (SIL) to up to 10 sites in Europe.
• Build detailed project plans for each site, including milestones, resources, and Ignition setups.
• Work with site PMs to customize plans, factoring in local needs and challenges.
• Follow up on tasks daily/weekly using tools like MS Teams or Ignition reports to stay on schedule.
• Send weekly updates to the global team with progress, risks, and integration metrics.
• Manage scope changes formally, checking impacts on timelines and system integrity.
• Flag and escalate issues (technical or integration-related) quickly for resolution.
• Track and coordinate support from the global team, like expertise or funding.
• Develop and document standards for shop floor integration, ensuring consistency across sites via Ignition.
• Gather key requirements from sites through consultations, workshops, or surveys to inform plans and standards.
• Advance the work forward overall, staying grounded in site realities to drive practical implementation and problem-solving.
• Expected travel up to 50% to EU and other sites globally.

Requirements:

• Ideally the successful candidate will have 5+ years’ experience in project engineering or management.
• Strong background in industrial automation / SCADA / MES projects.
• Experience in pharma, life sciences or regulated manufacturing highly desirable.
• Hands-on knowledge of Ignition (or similar SCADA/MES platforms).
