We are looking for a sharp, collaborative, and forward-thinking RTO Compliance Manager to guide our compliance strategy and champion educational excellence across our organisation.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the custodian of our regulatory health. This isn’t just about ticking boxes—it's about embedding quality into our daily operations. You will oversee our compliance framework, lead internal self-assurance strategies under the current Standards for RTOs, and ensure we remain a benchmark provider in the VET sector.
Role Description
The RTO Compliance Manager is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing all compliance activities related to the Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
This position manages regulatory obligations, monitors adherence to the Standards for RTOs, and ensures all training and assessment practices meet national and industry requirements.
Daily tasks include reviewing and updating policies and procedures, conducting internal audits, maintaining accurate records, and preparing documentation for regulatory reporting and audits.
The role collaborates with trainers, assessors, and administrative staff to support continuous improvement, quality assurance, and risk management across all courses and programs.
The RTO Compliance Manager also provides guidance on legislative changes, coordinates corrective actions, and promotes a strong culture of compliance and learner centric quality.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Leadership: Oversee and maintain the RTO compliance framework, ensuring alignment with ASQA guidelines and the VET Quality Framework.
Self-Assurance & Auditing: Schedule and lead proactive internal audits, assessment validation sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Trainer & Assessor Management: Maintain the compliance currency of our trainer matrices, ensuring full alignment with industry requirements and the VET Credential Policy.
ASQA & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for ASQA performance assessments, scope additions, and annual declarations.
Data & Systems Integrity: Work closely with our administration team to ensure flawless AVETMISS data reporting and Student Management System (SMS) health.
What We Are Looking For
VET Sector Expertise: Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience managing compliance within an Australian RTO environment.
Regulatory Mastery: Deep, practical knowledge of ASQA expectations, self-assurance models, and current legislative frameworks.
The Right Credentials: A current TAE40122 (or TAE40116) Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
System Savvy: Strong hands-on experience with SMS platforms and student file auditing.
A Collaborative Mindset: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to coach trainers and staff on compliance best practices without the jargon.
