About The Role
The Risk Adjustment Senior Data Analyst plays a crucial role within our analytics team, bringing extensive expertise in health data analysis and risk adjustment business domains. This role involves managing complex data workflows, developing scalable analytics pipelines, and translating data insights into actionable reports for stakeholders. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced data modeling and analysis skills to support risk adjustment processes for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and ACA programs. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including clients and internal stakeholders, to understand business needs, design appropriate analytical methodologies, and deliver insights that enhance productivity, quality, and financial outcomes. Your technical proficiency with modern data tools such as SQL, dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and Databricks will be instrumental in automating reporting processes and building robust data products. Additionally, you will mentor junior analysts, stay current with industry trends, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within health or risk adjustment domains
- Proficiency in SQL, including advanced analytic queries
- Experience with database technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Oracle, or MS SQL Server
- Strong knowledge of risk adjustment models including HCC, RxHCC, HHS-HCC, and CDPS
- Experience analyzing health data for trends, disease prevalence, and hierarchy
- Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and building data solutions
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Sigma, or SSRS
- Knowledge of risk adjustment coding, chart retrieval, HEDIS abstraction, and quality management
- Ability to develop, test, and deploy reports supporting risk adjustment and medical record coding
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with an analytical mindset
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex data into clear insights
- Experience working with large datasets, data cleaning, and preprocessing
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Optional: Experience with cloud services, machine learning algorithms, or health plan operations
- Optional: Familiarity with data privacy, security standards, and relevant legislation
Responsibilities
- Manage and own complex data workflows, ensuring data integrity and scalability
- Build and optimize analytics pipelines using tools like SQL, dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, and Databricks
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to coding output and health metrics
- Develop real-time and ad-hoc data reports to support business decision-making
- Transform ad-hoc analyses into reusable, automated data products for broader stakeholder use
- Gather, interpret, and aggregate data from multiple sources to support risk adjustment coding and quality initiatives
- Design, develop, and deploy reports that meet the needs of risk adjustment business users
- Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and scalability across clients and stakeholders
- Identify trends in reporting data and collaborate with teams to improve productivity and quality outcomes
- Run risk adjustment models for Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and ACA to forecast patient risk scores and ROI
- Partner with cross-functional teams and clients to understand business needs and provide data-driven insights
- Create clear, concise reports and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and analytical methodologies
- Mentor and train junior analysts, fostering a collaborative team environment
