About the role

Job Description

ECS is seeking a Data Analyst to work remotely.

This role supports the broader data team by gathering business requirements, documenting processes and decisions, and helping clean and standardize data. The person in this role acts as a connector between business stakeholders and the technical team, making sure requirements are captured clearly and data is accurate and usable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering Meet with business stakeholders to understand their data needs, pain points, and goals. Translate these conversations into clear, actionable requirements for the data team.
  • Documentation Create and maintain clear documentation of requirements, processes, decisions, and data workflows so the whole team has a shared reference.
  • Data Cleansing Support Help identify data quality issues — duplicates, missing values, inconsistent formatting — and support the broader team in cleaning and standardizing datasets.
  • Stakeholder Communication Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams (Data Scientists, Enterprise Architects, Engineers), making sure both sides understand each other.
  • Data Validation Check cleaned and transformed data against business requirements to confirm accuracy before it's used in reporting or architecture work.
  • Process Improvement Spot recurring data issues or gaps in documentation, and recommend better processes to prevent them going forward.
  • Reporting Support Assist with building simple reports or summaries that help stakeholders and leadership track data quality and project progress.

Salary Range: $105,000 - $110,000
