We are working with one of our clients to find an exceptional Director of Azure Cloud Services to join their global technology leadership team.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will define and drive the global Azure cloud strategy, lead large-scale transformation programmes, and shape the future of AI-powered cloud services across a complex enterprise environment.

The Role

As Director of Azure Cloud Services, you will be responsible for the strategy, architecture, and operations of Capita’s global Azure cloud platform.

You will lead the development of scalable, secure, and innovative cloud solutions while ensuring robust service delivery across a managed service environment.

Working closely with Microsoft and internal technology leaders, you’ll help drive the organisation’s cloud transformation and expand capabilities across AI, automation, and modern cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

Define and lead the global Azure cloud strategy aligned with business and transformation goals

Architect enterprise-scale Azure platforms across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and AI services

Lead global cloud operations, ensuring reliability, scalability and performance

Drive adoption of Azure AI technologies including Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services and Machine Learning

Modernise legacy platforms and enable cloud-native development

Implement strong cloud governance, security and compliance frameworks (GDPR, ISO27001, NIST)

Build and lead a high-performing global Azure team

Manage vendors, stakeholders and cloud service delivery within a managed services environment

Own financial performance and cloud cost optimisationWhat We’re Looking For

Senior leadership experience within Azure cloud strategy and operations

Proven experience managing global cloud environments and distributed teams

Deep expertise across Azure architecture, cloud platforms and AI/ML integration

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud transformation

Financial and commercial experience managing cloud budgets and optimisationAbout Our Client
