Role DescriptionThe QA Engineer / Web Developer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality web applications while ensuring software reliability, functionality, performance, and user experience through comprehensive quality assurance practices. This hybrid role combines web development expertise with software testing to deliver secure, scalable, and defect-free web solutions that meet business and user requirements.Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining responsive web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies. The role translates business and technical requirements into functional web solutions, develops reusable and maintainable code, integrates RESTful APIs, manages databases, and optimizes application performance, security, and scalability.On the quality assurance side, the position develops and executes test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, integration, system, regression, API, usability, and cross-browser testing. It performs both manual and automated testing to validate application functionality, identify software defects, verify bug fixes, and ensure application compatibility across different browsers, devices, and operating systems.The role collaborates with software developers, product managers, business analysts, UI/UX designers, and DevOps engineers throughout the software development lifecycle to review requirements, participate in code reviews, support release planning, and ensure quality is integrated into every stage of development. It also contributes to CI/CD pipelines, test automation frameworks, technical documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance development efficiency and software quality.The position monitors application performance, conducts root cause analysis, tracks defects using issue management systems, prepares testing reports, and recommends technical improvements to strengthen application reliability, maintainability, and user satisfaction while ensuring compliance with coding standards and software development best practices.QualificationsStrong understanding of web development, software engineering principles, software quality assurance, software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and testing methodologies. Ability to develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing web applications.Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, modern frontend frameworks, backend programming languages, RESTful API development, relational and/or NoSQL databases, version control systems, test management tools, defect tracking systems, and automated testing frameworks. Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, and performance testing tools is an advantage.Knowledge of responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility, web accessibility standards, application security, authentication and authorization, database design, API testing, software architecture, and quality assurance best practices.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify software defects, perform root cause analysis, optimize application performance, and implement effective technical solutions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare technical and testing documentation, communicate findings clearly, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple development and testing activities while delivering reliable, high-quality web applications in a fast-paced, collaborative, and quality-focused environment.
