This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Writer/Editor based in the United States. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support high-impact federal initiatives by producing clear, accurate, and compelling documentation for mission-critical programs. As a Writer/Editor, you will work closely with government stakeholders, subject matter experts, and project teams to transform complex technical and operational information into accessible content for diverse audiences. The position combines technical writing, executive communications, document management, and editorial oversight within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You will contribute to strategic initiatives that support national operations while ensuring all communications meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and compliance. This role is ideal for professionals who are highly detail-oriented, thrive in dynamic settings, and enjoy shaping information that drives informed decision-making. Accountabilities The Writer/Editor will provide comprehensive writing, editing, and document management support to ensure the production of high-quality communications and program documentation.

  • Develop, edit, and maintain technical, operational, and executive-level documentation for a federal program environment.
  • Translate complex information into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content.
  • Review and refine reports, briefings, presentations, correspondence, and publications to ensure accuracy, consistency, and readability.
  • Edit and update operational documents, requirements documentation, and leadership materials in accordance with established standards and style guides.
  • Create executive summaries and briefing materials from extensive technical and program documentation.
  • Collaborate with authors and subject matter experts to clarify messaging, define target audiences, and establish publication timelines.
  • Apply various levels of editorial review, including proofreading, copyediting, and substantive editing.
  • Manage document workflows, approval processes, and publication schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Oversee document organization, version control, and publication maintenance activities.
  • Support broader program initiatives by integrating documentation efforts with ongoing organizational priorities and future activities.

Requirements The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with proven technical writing and editing experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in complex and highly regulated environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Management, Business, or a related field.
  • 3-10 years of professional experience in technical writing, editing, communications, or document management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical editing, document development, and executive communications.
  • Experience with fact-checking, citation management, and applying organizational style guides and formatting standards.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong expertise in document formatting, version control, and Word Track Changes functionality.
  • Background in communications, marketing, business operations, change management, or related disciplines is preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable to changing requirements and fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • U.S. citizenship required and ability to successfully complete a government background investigation; active federal background investigation experience is highly desirable.
