The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Crypto Compliance Officer / KYC/AML Specialist to establish and maintain our compliance framework within the rapidly evolving digital asset landscape. This remote position offers the opportunity to shape compliance strategy from the ground up while working with cutting-edge blockchain technology.

Compensation: AU$100,000 - AU$105,000 per annumKey Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive AML/KYC policies and procedures tailored to cryptocurrency operations
• Conduct thorough customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) for digital asset transactions
• Monitor transactions for suspicious activity and file Suspicious Matter Reports (SMRs) as required under AUSTRAC regulations
• Ensure compliance with Australian AML/CTF Act and AUSTRAC reporting obligations
• Design and maintain risk-based compliance frameworks for crypto wallet and exchange operations
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and manage regulatory correspondence and audits
• Conduct ongoing transaction monitoring and blockchain analysis
• Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff
• Stay current with evolving regulations in crypto compliance across Australian and international jurisdictions
• Perform sanctions screening and PEP checks using industry-leading tools

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Accounting, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in AML/KYC compliance, preferably within fintech, banking, or cryptocurrency sectors
• Deep understanding of Australian AML/CTF regulations and AUSTRAC requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and digital asset operations
• Experience with KYC/AML software platforms and blockchain analytics tools
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to identify complex patterns
• Professional certification (CAMS, ACAMS, or equivalent) highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

What Sets You Apart

• Prior experience in cryptocurrency exchanges, digital wallets, or DeFi platforms
• Understanding of smart contracts and on-chain analytics
• Familiarity with international crypto regulations (FATF Travel Rule, MiCA, etc.)
• Experience working with compliance technology and automation tools
• Track record of implementing compliance programs from inception
