Location requirement: Applicants must currently reside in the UK. Candidates based in London or within reasonable travelling distance are preferred due to the need for site visits.
MY Planning Consultancy is looking for a capable and motivated Architectural Assistant or Technical Designer to join our growing team.
This role would suit an experienced RIBA Part 2 Architectural Assistant, Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist with experience producing planning and building regulations drawings.
You’ll work on a varied range of residential and commercial projects, including house extensions, loft conversions, internal alterations and residential conversions. You’ll take projects from measured surveys and early design through to planning submissions and technical drawing packages, working closely with clients and consultants.
Key responsibilities
* Carry out measured surveys and prepare accurate survey drawings.
* Develop design proposals in response to client briefs, site constraints and planning requirements.
* Prepare clear, accurate drawings and supporting documents for planning applications.
* Produce technical drawings and information for building regulations and building control submissions.
* Develop plans, elevations, sections and construction details.
* Coordinate project information with clients, consultants and other members of the team.
* Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of drawing quality.
* Attend site visits and project meetings where required.
* Keep project records and drawing information organised and up to date.
About you
- RIBA Part 2 qualification, or relevant experience as an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist.
- Experience working on UK residential projects; commercial project experience is an advantage.
- A good understanding of the UK planning process, building regulations and construction methods.
- Confident using AutoCAD and able to produce accurate, well-presented drawings.
- Able to interpret survey information and develop practical design solutions.
- Organised, dependable and comfortable managing several projects at once.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Must currently reside in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
- Able to attend site visits and project meetings as required.
Experience with Revit, SketchUp or Adobe Creative Suite would be an advantage.
