About The Role We are a fully remote team of engineers distributed across the US and Canada. Our approach emphasizes starting small and iteratively building upon our work to test assumptions and learn quickly. We are developing a complex, engaging product for a highly involved audience, focusing on impactful work that advances our mission. We believe that the future of education is hybrid, combining online and in-person learning. We are seeking engineers passionate about inspiring children to learn by creating tools that provide access to innovative learning experiences. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Designers to enhance class search and recommendation systems for parents, learners, and educators.
- Develop, train, evaluate, and maintain machine learning models using Python to improve platform functionalities.
- Identify opportunities for optimizing ML modeling, training, and evaluation techniques to enhance system performance.
- Participate in requirements gathering, daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and deploying new features in production environments.
- Provide on-call support to ensure system reliability and address issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience working as an engineer or data scientist.
- Proficiency with databases such as PostgreSQL and Redshift.
- Willingness to mentor colleagues and share expertise.
- Experience working in startup environments is preferred.
- Prior experience in EdTech or search engineering is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Opensearch, TypeScript, SageMaker, Redshift, Postgres, and DBT is a plus.
