Job Description

Posted on: April 18, 2026

We're Plexa & we're pushing the upper limits of how construction software should be. With strong product-market fit, an established sales team, and real momentum, our platform is purpose-built for the complexities of construction finance and procurement (plus HSEQ and more) and we're growing fast.

  • We need a Solutions Consultant who can walk into a room with a project director, CFO, or contracts manager and immediately speak their language. Someone who's lived the pain of claims, SOPA disputes, tender processes and procurement cycles, integration into accounting systems such as Oracle Netsuite and Xero and can show how our platform solves it.

What you'll do (must do this with high energy and a sense of competitiveness to win).

  • Own the technical demo and solution phase across all active deals, working hand-in-hand with our two AEs
  • Lead discovery conversations with construction finance, procurement, and operations stakeholders to surface real pain
  • Configure and deliver tailored product demonstrations that speak directly to each prospect's workflows and contract structure
  • Handle technical and process objections on the spot, tendering complexity, SOPA obligations, contract administration, integration questions
  • Build and manage proof-of-concept environments for enterprise evaluations
  • Create solution-specific collateral: process maps, ROI models, and compliance summaries for the construction context
  • Feed product feedback from the field directly to the founding team to shape the roadmap
  • Support smooth handoffs to customer success post-close

_Non-negotiable requirements_Must have

Hands-on experience in construction, engineering, or an AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) environment either working within the industry or selling software directly into it for a minimum of 2 years.

Must have

Working knowledge of construction finance and procurement processes: tendering and letting, construction contract formation and administration, subcontractor procurement, and end-to-end finance workflows including progress claims, variations, retention, and debt recovery.

Must have

Practical understanding of the Security of Payment Act (SOPA) framework as it applies to construction contracts in Australia including payment schedules, adjudication processes, and the obligations on principals, head contractors, and subcontractors.

What strong looks like

  • You've worked as a contracts administrator, project accountant, QS, procurement manager, or construction finance lead and you've crossed into software
  • or you have worked for a construction software vendor prior -> Experience with construction management software, ERP, or finance platforms (Procore, Cheops, Jobpac, Viewpoint, or similar) is a real advantage
  • You know what it means when a claim is disputed and a payment schedule is late
  • You've sat across from a head contractor's CFO and held your ground in a commercial conversation
  • You can run a compelling product demo without a script, responding to wherever the conversation goes
  • You understand how construction businesses are structured head contractor vs subcontractor vs developer dynamics

The role in practice

You'll be the bridge between our AEs and the deal. When an AE books a qualified meeting, you come in for discovery and demo. You'll carry deals through the technical and solution evaluation phase, then hand off cleanly to close and onboarding.

You'll work closely with the founding team during an intensive onboarding period to absorb the product depth and the sales motion. After that, you'll operate with significant autonomy this is not a support role, it's a deal-critical one.

As we grow, this role has a natural path toward managing a pre-sales function and shaping how we scale the solution layer across a larger team.

This is a remote first role, must be based on the eastern seaboard and is flexible to travelling to customer offices as needed to support deal flow.
