Associate Project Manager (Bilingual Japanese/English)Overview
We are supporting a global video game organization in hiring an Associate Project Manager (Bilingual Japanese/English) to support large-scale video game localization initiatives. This role is central to coordinating efforts across Japanese development teams, U.S.-based English translators, and European stakeholders, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery of localized game content.
This is a highly collaborative, cross-cultural position that requires native-level Japanese fluency, strong project coordination skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate localization workflows among Japanese development teams, U.S.-based English translators, and a London-based team
- Manage project schedules, dependencies, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders
- Support the localization of video game content, including:
- In-game text
- Packaging copy
- Visual and marketing assets
- Facilitate review and approval processes for localized content and visual materials
- Serve as a primary communication bridge between Japanese- and English-speaking stakeholders
- Maintain accurate project documentation, timelines, and regular status updates
- Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve localization workflows
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of localization deliverables
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
Required Qualifications
- Native-level fluency in Japanese (spoken and written)
- Professional fluency in English (spoken and written)
- 3–4 years of project management or project coordination experience
- Demonstrated experience working across cultures and global time zones
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
