🚀 About the Opportunity

An early-stage, bootstrapped health SaaS startup is looking for a hands-on Founding Product Engineer / CTO / Technical Lead to help us launch and scale our next-gen platform for Australia’s booming cosmetic and healthcare sector.

Our MVP is almost complete and ready to roll out, with paying customers lined up and strong market demand. We’re solving urgent compliance, workflow, and profitability challenges for clinics across the country.

You’ll be the first technical hire - owning tech decisions, shipping features, and setting the standards as we bring our product to market and beyond.

🌟 What You’ll Do

• Take end-to-end ownership of our modern full-stack platform (NodeJS, React, TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Lead on DevOps, cloud infrastructure, security, and scalability (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Collaborate with the founder and designer to finalise the MVP, refine features, and deliver on feedback from early customers
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and maintain a secure, reliable cloud environment
• Own technical audits and establish best practices for future growth
• Shape the engineering culture, with input on hiring and scaling as the business grows

🧑‍💻 About You

• 5+ years’ experience as a full stack engineer (NodeJS, React, TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Strong DevOps/cloud skills: deploying, scaling, and securing SaaS apps in the cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure); CI/CD, infra-as-code, monitoring, and automation
• Proven track record in 0 to 1 product builds (ideally as a founding engineer or the first technical hire)
• Adopts AI coding tools to move fast and enhance development workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; enjoy working in lean, founder-led teams
• Startup mindset: adaptable, hands-on, and comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration

Bonus points for:

• Healthtech, medtech, or regulated SaaS experience
• Familiarity with compliance and security best practices (privacy, data protection)
• Interest in leveraging AI/automation tools
