About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to manage and support accounting operations across multiple EU-based entities. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and effective collaboration with local accounting providers, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience within EU jurisdictions, strong technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to operate in a multi-entity, multi-country environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations for multiple legal entities, working collaboratively within a finance team.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of financial data across all entities.
- Prepare financial statements and lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Act as the main point of contact for local accounting firms and service providers in various jurisdictions.
- Prepare and submit tax filings, including corporate income tax, VAT, and other local tax requirements, in coordination with local tax advisors.
- Manage cash flow across all entities, ensuring sufficient liquidity and supporting working capital optimization.
- Oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and documentation, ensuring compliance with transfer pricing regulations.
- Implement, maintain, and enforce internal controls to ensure reliable financial reporting across multi-country operations.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors, managing statutory audits and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Coordinate closely with local accounting teams or external providers to ensure efficient operations and full regulatory compliance.
- Manage payroll-related journal entries and ensure accurate payroll accounting.
- Oversee and support the invoicing process in close cooperation with the payroll and finance teams.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, preferably within an EU-based company.
- Strong knowledge of accounting and tax regulations across multiple EU jurisdictions.
- Solid experience working with local accounting firms, tax advisors, and statutory auditors.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-entity, multi-country environment.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Languages
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Fluency in at least one additional European language is required (Italian, Dutch, Czech, Lithuanian, German, or Polish).
