Role Description

Accountee is seeking a payroll master to lead our team of remote payroll specialists to deliver payroll to some of Australia's fastest-growing companies.

Job descriptionResponsibilities

Including but not limited to:

• Managing fortnightly payroll processing across multiple staff.

• Interpreting and validating timesheets from Deputy (including public holidays, leave, and award conditions).

• Processing payroll in Xero, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Preparing and uploading ABA files for payment processing.

• Managing superannuation setup and batch processing.

• Handling new employee onboarding in Xero (set up, pay rates, compliance).

• Completing payroll tax lodgements (NSW, SA monthly; VIC/QLD periodic).

• Monitoring and responding to payroll-related queries (e.g. FCV inbox).

• Identifying and resolving pay discrepancies and errors.

• Supporting ongoing payroll compliance and reporting.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll (ideally high-volume).

• Strong working knowledge of Xero Payroll.

• Experience using Deputy for timesheets and rostering.

• Understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and payroll tax.

• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

• Ability to manage tight payroll timeframes and public holiday complexities.
