Job Description
As a fully remote Civil Project Manager, you will lead civil engineering projects from start to finish. Your day-to-day will include managing scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing. You will also be the main point of contact for clients, keep them updated, and respond to their needs as projects move forward.
You will work virtually with engineers, designers, outside consultants, and public agencies to keep work moving and to make sure deliverables meet code and client requirements. Your work directly affects project quality, client satisfaction, and the firm’s ability to win new work, since you will also support proposals, fee estimates, and business development.
The ideal candidate combines strong civil engineering knowledge with real project management experience. They communicate clearly in a remote setting, enjoy building client relationships, mentor team members, and solve problems before those problems affect cost or delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing, and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary client contact, providing regular updates and addressing project needs.
- Coordinate engineers, designers, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
- Oversee the preparation and review of engineering plans, calculations, specifications, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate permitting and approvals with municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies.
- Identify and resolve issues that could affect project quality, cost, or delivery.
- Review deliverables for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and client requirements.
- Support proposals, scope development, fee estimates, and business development efforts.
- Mentor team members and maintain clear communication across a remote project team.
Required Experience/Skills
- Experience managing civil engineering projects from planning through completion
- Strong understanding of civil design, permitting, and project delivery.
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple priorities at once.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and outside consultants.
- Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
Nice-to-Haves
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, preferably in Texas.
- Experience working with Texas municipalities and reviewing agencies.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering design tools.
- Experience developing proposals and supporting business development.
- Previous experience in a remote or distributed engineering team.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Pay & Benefits Summary
- Salary range: $100,000 to $135,000 per year, depending on experience.
