POSITION SCOPE: The Graphic Designer is part of the Design studio and Project team, and is responsible to oversee, lead, and manage the design of all show related elements under the direction of the Executive Creative Director for themed entertainment, touring and permanent exhibitions, physical and digital consumer experiences, and retail environments.
The Graphic Designer will work collaboratively with the Creative teams, Operations, Production installation teams, Project Management, and Digital Experience Design teams to ensure exhibition experiences are integrated, on-brand, and on-strategy. The Graphic Designer will participate in Blue Sky design, concept development, design development, and any other design related disciplines to ensure creative vision is aligned and maintained. Will use various mediums and design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk Suite, Sketchup, etc.) to create diagrams, drawings and 3D visual models detailing creative intent and integration of show components within show spaces and floorplans. Responsible for designing projects to company goals, creative intent, schedule, and budget requirements.
The Graphic Designer is a problem-solver and guardian in strategic design planning, space planning, interior design, and interior architectural solutions. Oversees work assignments delegated to the design team during all phases of the project, including production and installation. Schedules and organizes design reviews as often as needed during the design process. Oversees show vendors and consultants to maintain the integrity of the original design during all phases of the project.
The Graphic Designer will understand materials and fabrication processes and have a strong background in Graphic Design. A robust design communicator with experience in drawing or representing design thinking through renderings, 3D models, and documentation such as plans and elevations. Is familiar with industry trends with specifics to museums, attractions, exhibits, and immersive spaces.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- As directed by the Executive Creative Director or Design Directors, responsible for developing and executing the project's vision through the production of 2D design drawings, 3D visualization, and architectural design techniques. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and practicality of design through all phases of the project. Ensures that exhibitions meet or exceed creative intent and achieves the guest experience on budget and schedule. Is a key participant in cost,
- schedule, technical, integration and other discussions.
- Ability to create and manage a design package for internal teams, fabricators, and on-site production teams.
- Participate in all phases and aspects of a project, including research and project immersion, strategy, ideation, concept design, schematic design, design development, design intent documentation, and fabrication and installation oversight.
- Develop innovative exhibition graphics and communications design solutions which meet the strategic, experiential, functional, and budgetary scope for each project.
- Communicate design solutions through story-driven architectural visualization, drawings, sketches, 3D and physical models, and documentation.
- Create thoughtful, clear, presentation plan documents that communicate design-thinking for our clients, vendors, and creative partners in the collaborative design process.
- Communicate key deliverables, including conceptual 2D and 3D graphics, sign location plans, elevations and sections, details, specifications, 2D and 3D visualizations, and other supporting materials.
- Develop design solutions for touring exhibitions with modularity for multiple venue footprints and existing conditions that can be shipped both domestically and internationally.
- Adapt existing exhibitions to new venues.
- Specify materials, finishes, and make lighting recommendations.
- Oversee the fabrication, production, and installation processes.
- Partner with the Production and Operations teams to ensure that creative is delivered on time and to the level of quality expected at Imagine Exhibitions
PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be a creative thinker and problem solver with a strong technical abilities and approach to design challenges utilizing various design techniques and tools such as scenic design, 2d drawing ability, 3D modeling, and architectural design as needed. Must have effective communication and collaboration skills and ability to work
- effectively in a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, Theatre, Fine Arts, or related field required; Themed Entertainment design preferred.
- Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to work with both domestic and international vendors.
- 5-8 years of related Graphic production experience, with a track record of successfully overseeing project scope of varying scale, including but not limited to; themed entertainment design, museum exhibition design, interior design, architecture, or stage/theatrical production design.
- A passion for experience design and the built environment
- Connected to the creative industry-strong knowledge of industry trends and innovations in experience design.
- Strong conceptual ideation and collaborative brainstorming abilities
- Strong understanding of the design process and documentation from initial concepts through implementation
- Understanding of construction and fabrication methods, materials and finishes, and lighting solutions
- Ability to read architectural construction documents and shop drawings, and coordinate with consultants and drafting teams as required.
- Hand drawing or sketching skills a plus
- Knowledge of 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization techniques
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize and concurrently work on multiple projects in a fast-paced studio environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines, without compromising accuracy, within the constraints of schedule and budget.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to function in high-pressure situations.

- Skilled in the use of computer and office equipment.
- Proficient in activities requiring manual dexterity of both hands.
- Travel domestically and/or internationally based on business need.
- Primarily a remote position.
