VP of Engineering – FinTech AI Start-up (Amsterdam | Fully Remote)

Compensation: €250k base + bonus (up to €350k OTE) + equity

Location: Amsterdam HQ (but fully remote across Europe)

🚀 The Role

As VP of Engineering, you will be the technical leader and visionary of the company, responsible for:

• Strategic leadership: Own and evolve the long-term technical strategy, aligning engineering with business goals and customer needs.
• Team building & leadership: Scale, mentor, and inspire a world-class engineering team across Europe, fostering excellence, ownership, and collaboration.
• Product innovation: Partner with product and AI research teams to bring secure, scalable, and innovative authentication solutions to life.
• Technical excellence: Oversee architecture, infrastructure, and system design for high-availability, mission-critical fintech products.
• Delivery & scale: Ensure smooth execution and delivery in a complex, high-growth environment, balancing speed with stability and compliance.
• Stakeholder collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with the founders, executive leadership, and external partners to shape and grow the company.

🛠️ What We’re Looking For

• Proven senior leadership experience (VP/Director/Head of Engineering) in fintech, SaaS, or AI-driven products.
• Strong track record of scaling engineering teams in start-up or high-growth environments.
• Deep understanding of secure, scalable systems – ideally with expertise in authentication, security, or payments.
• Strong grasp of modern tech stacks and architectural best practices.
• Experience working closely with AI/ML-driven products is a plus.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
• Based in Amsterdam or within European time zones (fully remote possible).
