The Role

We're hiring a Founding Controller to own client delivery, financial operations, and implementation. You'll report directly to the founder and be responsible for making sure every client is set up right, supported well, and getting value from Latch.

This role starts part-time or contract with a clear path to full-time as we grow. Ideal for someone who wants to build something from the ground floor without jumping ship overnight.

You'll run kickoff calls, configure QuickBooks, oversee our bookkeeping team, and be the person clients trust with their financials. You need deep QuickBooks expertise, strong client instincts, and the ability to move fast in a startup environment.

What You'll Do

• Lead client onboarding — run kickoff calls, set up Latch accounts, configure QuickBooks Online and Desktop
• Ensure smooth implementation and help clients integrate Latch into their business
• Manage and oversee bookkeepers, keep projects moving, and ensure deadlines are met
• Handle complex QuickBooks setup and troubleshooting
• Maintain consistent client communication and resolve issues quickly
• Work with the backend team to set up accounts and ensure product quality
• Deliver a 5-star client experience across every touchpoint

You're a Fit If You Have

• CPA, former CFO/Controller, or equivalent finance background
• Deep expertise in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop
• Understanding of US accounting and bookkeeping standards
• Experience managing bookkeepers or small finance teams
• Strong client communication — you're the person clients trust with their numbers
• High comfort level with AI tools — you use them daily and learn fast
• Bias toward action — you move fast, solve problems, don't wait for permission
• Startup mentality — you want ownership, upside, and to build something that matters
