Senior International Sales Executive - Leading Medical Cannabis Lighting BrandFully Remote within EuropeFor this role you must have Medical Cannabis experiance to be considered. If you do not have experiance selling products/services to cannabis cultivators or buying products from cannabis cultivators, please do not apply.Company Description
Our client is one of Europe’s & Australia’s leading cannabis lighting manufacturers and home grower brands. The business was founded in the early 2000s as a family-run lighting company. The original idea came from a British grower (the founder) who had been living in California, was deeply connected to the cannabis cultivation world, and saw an opportunity to bring better lighting technology into a market that was still largely using traditional magnetic ballast systems. What started as a small family business selling products from a garage has grown into one of the premium lighting brands in the European grow shop and home cultivation market.
Our client became especially well known through its early adoption of LED lighting, at a time when many growers and retailers were still sceptical about whether LED technology could properly replace HID systems. That decision became a major turning point for the company. The launch of the LED range helped drive significant growth (more than 1000%) across Europe and Australia, leading them to become a trusted and leading brand among home growers, grow shops, distributors, and cultivation professionals. This became a major turning point for the business, with the growth helping transform the company from a small family-run operation into a more established and professional SME.
Due to the company’s significant growth during the early LED transition, our client has evolved into a team of around 30 people, including 5 within sales, while still maintaining the energy, transparency, ownership, and closeness of a family-run business. The company is now led by the founder’s daughter, who joined the business 13 years ago, worked her way up through the company across multiple areas of the business, and was appointed CEO 4 years ago after playing a key role in helping scale the company into the brand it is today. The company is now entering its next stage of growth. Historically, our client’s strongest position has been in the retail and home grow market.
That market remains important, but the business is now seeing a clear opportunity to build a much stronger presence within professional cannabis cultivation facilities, particularly medical cannabis cultivation facilities across Europe. The company already has strong brand recognition, premium products, technical support, and early traction with facility customers. The next step is to hire a dedicated salesperson who can focus fully on this channel and help our client diversify beyond its already well established retail and grow shop presence into the professional medical cannabis licensed producer market across Europe.
Role Overview
This role has been created to help our client grow its professional medical cannabis facility sales channel across Europe. The Senior Sales Executive will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities with medical cannabis facilities, licensed producers, commercial growers, and other professional cultivation operators. This is not a pure account management role, and it is not a role for someone who only wants to inherit warm accounts. Our client is looking for someone who can actively open doors, build relationships, create opportunities, and convert those opportunities into revenue.
The company already has a strong reputation in the cultivation market, and many growers know the brand from the retail and home grow world. However, the professional facility channel is still being developed and needs further investment and time. This person will play an important role in helping the business build that channel properly. The role will suit someone who understands how to sell into medical cannabis cultivation facilities, knows how to speak with growers and commercial decision makers, and is comfortable selling a premium product based on value, performance, reliability, and return on investment rather than simply competing on price. You do not need to be a lighting engineer or a grower. Our client has technical and back-office support available for projects.
However, you do need to understand enough about cultivation environments to have credible commercial conversations with facility owners, operators, and technical stakeholders, and a strong willingness to learn. In simple terms, this is a sales role for someone who can help our client win more medical cannabis facility customers across Europe and become a stronger commercial player in the medical cannabis cultivation world.
Your key responsibilities:
• Identify and develop new sales opportunities with medical cannabis cultivation facilities and professional growers across Europe.
• Build relationships with facility owners, commercial growers, cultivation directors, procurement teams, consultants, and other key decision makers.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through to meetings, proposals, negotiation, closing, onboarding, and ongoing account development and account management.
• Sell our clients lighting solutions as premium products, clearly explaining their value, performance, reliability, efficiency, and commercial benefit to growers.
• Work closely with the internal technical team to support lighting plans, project discussions, customer questions, and post-sale support.
• Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s facility, crop requirements, lighting needs, commercial objectives, and buying process.
• Build and maintain a clear pipeline of opportunities, with accurate sales forecasting, account notes, and visibility on expected revenue.
• Support the company’s wider move from a retail-led business into a stronger professional facility sales business.
• Nurture existing professional customers while continuing to open new accounts and new routes to market.
• Represent our client professionally at customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and site visits.
• Share useful market feedback with the wider business, including competitor activity, customer objections, pricing feedback, product requirements, and market trends.
• Work in a practical, revenue-focused way, using the tools, team, and resources already in place rather than waiting for perfect processes before selling.
Your Profile:
Hard Requirements
• Minimum 3 to 4 years B2B sales experience
• You must have experience selling into licensed cannabis cultivation facilities, medical cannabis facilities, cannabis greenhouse operators, or similar. It does not have to be lighting, but can be anything from racks, to extraction systems, to fertilisers, nutrients, seeds, clones, irrigation, fertigation, climate control systems, ventilation, etc.
• You must have existing relationships with medical cannabis cultivation facilities, licensed producers, CBD producers, greenhouse operators, or professional growers across Europe.
• Strong understanding of the medical cannabis, controlled environment agriculture, horticulture, or hydroponics market.
• A track record of generating new business and closing sales, not just managing existing accounts.
• Comfortable selling premium products where the customer may compare against cheaper alternatives.
• Build, manage, and strengthen a network of distributors, channel partners, and strategic accounts across Europe (all focused on facility sales).
• Able to speak credibly with CEOs, commercial growers, LP operators, and commercial decision makers.
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to create trust quickly with customers.
• Revenue-focused, target-driven, and enjoy being judged on sales performance.
• Able to work remotely and travel across Europe for customer visits, trade shows, and facility meetings.
• Based in Europe.
• Fluent English.
• Low ego, collaborative, and comfortable working in a smaller SME environment where people are trusted to deliver without a heavy corporate structure.
Bonus Points
• Personal or professional cannabis cultivation knowledge.
• As well as English - German, Dutch, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Czech, or another European language.
• Experience selling premium products where quality, performance, and long-term value matter more than price.
• Before working in the cannabis industry, you also worked in the traditional horticulture and agriculture sector.
• Experience in diversifying other brands from the home grower / retail market into the licensed producer market.
• Contacts not just in one market, but across numerous EU markets.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary 60,000 – 90,000, depending on experience
- Bonus / Commission in addition to base salary - make commission on all sales for the first year
- Fully Remote in Europe
- Flexible, trust-based culture where people are given ownership, treated like an adult, and judged by results.
