We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Remote Bookkeeping Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations, maintain accurate records, and assist with reporting tasks. This role involves working remotely to handle basic bookkeeping duties under the supervision of a senior bookkeeper, accountant, or finance manager. Key Responsibilities: Record daily financial transactions using accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Pastel). Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and petty cash. Assist with accounts payable (entering invoices, preparing payments) and accounts receivable (customer invoicing, follow-ups). Maintain accurate records of expenses, sales, payroll entries, and other financial data. Organize and file digital receipts, statements, and other financial documents. Support month-end and year-end closing procedures. Generate basic financial reports or summaries as requested. Communicate with vendors, customers, or internal teams to resolve discrepancies or obtain missing information. Help ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial procedures. Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications: Matric certificate or equivalent (Diploma/Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance preferred). 1–2 years of experience in a bookkeeping or finance support role. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Pastel) is essential. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (Google Sheets a plus). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good understanding of basic accounting principles. Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data. Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines while working independently. Clear written and verbal communication skills.
