2. About the Opportunity:

The Software Engineer I role is focused on developing and maintaining backend services and APIs, primarily using .NET Core and React. This position plays a key role in enabling scalable and efficient software solutions that support frontend applications, contributing directly to the delivery of educational technology products. The role emphasizes collaboration, testing, and the use of advanced AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality.

3. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using .NET Core/.NET 5+.

• Implement and consume APIs to support React-based frontend applications.

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests for both backend and frontend components.

• Query and utilize data from existing SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to convert requirements into technical solutions.

• Participate in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and continuous improvement efforts.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.

4. Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 3 years experience in backend development with .NET Core or .NET 5+.

• At least 2 years experience building frontend applications using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.

• Experience with building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Working knowledge of SQL Server or PostgreSQL.

• Experience writing unit tests and familiarity with common testing frameworks.

• Proficiency with Git and standard version control practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and modern productivity workflows.

• Exposure to microservices or service-oriented architecture.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized development (Docker).

• Cloud platform experience (AWS or similar).

• Knowledge of authentication and authorization concepts (OAuth, JWT, RBAC).

• Experience with GraphQL, message queues, or event-driven systems.

• Prior experience or knowledge in K–12 education, Student Information Systems, or EdTech.

5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• Salary range: $68,000—$93,500 USD.
