Role Description The Venture Capital General Partner will lead investment strategy and execution for Toolkit For Founders, focusing on early-stage companies aligned with the platform’s mission and ecosystem. This full-time remote role includes sourcing and evaluating deal flow, conducting due diligence, negotiating term sheets, and overseeing portfolio management. The General Partner will collaborate closely with founders to provide strategic guidance, support fundraising efforts, and leverage platform relationships to create value. Responsibilities also include building and maintaining relationships with co-investors, LPs, and strategic partners, contributing to fund governance, and representing the firm at industry events and within relevant communities.
Qualifications
- Strong investment and financial skills, including experience with venture capital deal sourcing, due diligence, valuation, and portfolio management.
- Expertise in startup and SMB ecosystems, particularly in areas such as fintech, HR tech, back-office operations, or B2B SaaS.
- Proven ability to build and manage relationships with founders, limited partners, co-investors, and strategic partners.
- Strategic and operational skills, including fund strategy development, governance, and support for early-stage company growth.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial and strategic concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated track record in venture capital, private equity, or relevant investing roles; prior General Partner or Partner experience is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment, with strong self-management and decision-making skills.
- Advanced degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred but not required if offset by substantial industry experience.
