Our client, a leader in the Financial Services space, is looking to add a Senior Level Creative Strategist to their team on a contract basis. Role will be remote, 40 hours/week and ongoing. EST/CST time zone preferred.
Location: 100% Remote (EST/CST)
Type: Contract
Duration: October - 2026 EOY
Pay Range: $50-55/hr.
About the Role
Are you a born storyteller? Do you have a passion for synthesizing complex marketing information into relatable, compelling creative ideas? If so, you may be a great fit for the open Creative Strategist position at an in-house creative agency. In this role, you would work as part of our creative team to bridge the gap between marketing goals and creative outcomes through data, insights, best practices and current trends analysis. This position is currently remote, where you’ll be work from home, but may be required to work in one of our offices in the future or occasionally commute to one our offices for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic partner to the cross-functional agency team in our [Retail] vertical, working account, creative directors, designers and writers to help bring key data and insights to life.
- Function as the team’s product and market subject matter expert, fostering a deep understanding of our offerings and the competitive landscape they exist within.
- Develop creative strategies backed by consumer insights to guide creative ideation and provide rationale for creative decisions.
- Participate in concepting and brainstorming.
- Collaborate with creative teams on assigned projects to ensure strategic throughput and alignment.
- Present in client review meetings to demonstrate rationale behind creative concepts and decisions.
- Monitor and update creative partners on industry trends and best practices related to their work.
- Build relationships with media, email, and research teams to understand capabilities and foster cross-functional collaboration as needed.
- Understand and make use of all available data, analytics and market research.
- Write copy as needed to help illustrate strategy or idea.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED and 8+ years’ experience in marketing, creative business or agency
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing with a focus on strategy
- Extensive experience creating content for social media, digital advertising, websites, web applications and mobile apps.
- Portfolio and/or writing samples/case studies required with application
Desired Characteristics:
- Strategic thinker with strong communication and presentation skills
- Working knowledge of design, brand development and overall creative process
- Solid copywriting background (marketing/brand/advertising copy)
- Familiar with ideating and building customer personas, customer journeys, experience maps, communication cadence planning, messaging matrixes, and journey analysis
- Able to manage a high volume of projects with constantly changing deadlines
- Able to multi-task, prioritize, problem solve and work independently
- Maintains a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients
- Excellent problem-solving, planning and organizational skills
- Team player, flexible and fast thinker, especially during critical or stressful times
- The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with your manager and clients
- A solid understanding of CX, UX and SEO
- Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with Figma, FigJam, and Adobe Workfront, or ability to learn quickly
