VP Marketing
United States (Remote) | Permanent | $200,000 - $250,000 base + bonus + equity
Our client is a PE-backed B2B FinTech. Since a recent acquisition, the leadership team has largely been rebuilt, and the core platform is being rebuilt from the ground up as AI-native, launching next year. Their much larger competitors are still bolting AI onto legacy products, which puts the business in a strong position to leapfrog the incumbents and move upmarket.
The Role
This is a build rather than a maintain. The VP Marketing owns the entire marketing function, reports into the C-suite and sits on the leadership team. The brief is to take a well-established name and reposition it as the company the rest of the market is chasing, starting with a full brand refresh and the launch of the new platform.
What you’ll do:
- Lead the brand refresh and new website, and get the whole business aligned on what it says to the market, from press releases to white papers.
- Own product marketing for the new platform, making an AI-native, mission-critical product easy for a newer, more tech-forward generation of buyers to get behind.
- Build up to the user conference next summer, which the business sees as its coming-out party to the industry.
- Run field and ABM with the sales team, and go after the associations and pockets of the market that don’t know the business yet.
- Get marketing ops and reporting into shape, and present the numbers to leadership and the board.
- Lead a lean team and decide what’s done in-house and what’s brought in from outside.
What we’re looking for:
- A Director or VP-level B2B software marketer with a broad remit across brand, product marketing, field and demand - not a specialist in one channel.
- You’ve led a brand refresh or repositioning, ideally alongside a major product launch.
- You come from a business of roughly 50-500 people and are used to setting the strategy and doing the work.
- Experience marketing into SMB, mid-market and enterprise buyers.
- You’re data savvy enough to read the reports and present them, without needing to be a hands-on demand gen technician.
- Financial services, banking or fintech experience is a strong plus, as is running AI-enabled workflows day to day.
Why this role:
It’s rare to get a blank canvas at a business with this much history behind it. You’d be relaunching an established company with a genuinely new product, real investment behind marketing and equity in the outcome.
