This role
We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team for a parental leave cover ending October 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to play a crucial role in our financial accounting, with a heavy focus on ensuring robust reporting accuracy and compliance. You'll work closely with the Finance team to contribute to the smooth running of our finance function, with the added opportunity to engage with and leverage our AI-driven tools and strategies to streamline financial processes.
As the Financial Accountant, you will be a central member of the Finance team by ensuring our global business reporting and compliance obligations are delivered on time and accurately. You will also play a pivotal role in preparing balance sheet reconciliations, being a key point of contact for our auditors and assisting with our regulatory reporting and tax submissions.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is a great communicator with stakeholder management experience and a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment with lots of ambiguity.
As our Financial Accountant, your role will look after:
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Complete accurate monthly reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit tax returns (BAS/VAT, PAYG, payroll tax, FBT) across AU, NZ, UK, SG, and MY, ensuring full compliance.
- External Reporting: Manage submissions for government surveys, payment times, and insurance renewals.
- Cash Flow Support: Assist with weekly forecasting for tax and payroll obligations.
- Audit Support: Lead audit prep and coordination, including schedules, documentation, and auditor liaison.
- General Ledger & Close: Ensure accuracy of financial transactions and support timely month- and year-end close.
- Compliance: Adhere to AASB/IFRS, internal policies, and statutory requirements.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows using automation and AI.
- Payroll & ESOP: If experienced, you will support payroll processing and employee share plan admin.
Who you are

- CA/CPA qualified, with 4-6 years' post-qualification experience
- Background in Audit, Tax, or Business Services (ideally from public practice)
- Minimum 4 years of Australian tax/accounting experience; multi-geo exposure a plus
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with NetSuite, Zuora, or FloQast is a bonus
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with strong planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communicator with the confidence to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a can-do attitude
