Operating Partner - Operations Team
Location: Flexible / Remote Industry: Private Equity - Portfolio Operations Experience: ~3 Years Travel: Extensive (50-75%+)

A leading private equity firm is seeking a high‑potential Operating Partner to join its Operations Team. This individual will partner directly with portfolio company leadership teams to drive operational improvements, analyze financial performance, and support value‑creation initiatives.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an early‑career finance or strategy professional to gain hands‑on exposure across multiple businesses while working in a highly dynamic, travel‑intensive private equity operating environment.
Key Responsibilities Portfolio Company Performance & Analysis
- Work closely with portfolio company executives to analyze cash flows, margins, cost drivers, and operational KPIs
- Build and enhance complex financial models to support operational and strategic decision‑making
- Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews
Value Creation & Operational Improvement
- Support the execution of initiatives across pricing, procurement, operations, supply chain, and working capital optimization
- Develop and track KPIs and performance dashboards
- Help roll out best practices across the portfolio
Transaction & Diligence Support
- Analyze operational and financial performance during diligence for new investments
- Partner with deal teams to assess risks, opportunities, and value‑creation potential
Travel Requirements
- Extensive travel (50-75%+), both domestic and occasional international, is required
- Frequent on‑site presence at manufacturing, industrial, and distribution facilities
- Ability to spend multiple days per week at portfolio company locations
Ideal Candidate Profile Experience
- Approximately 3 years of professional experience
- Strong preference for candidates who have completed a 2‑year rotational finance development program
- Background in FP&A, corporate finance, strategy, financial development programs, or operational analytics
Skills & Traits
- Excellent analytical ability; strong Excel and modeling skills
- Exceptional communication and executive‑level presence
- Ability to operate independently in fast‑moving, ambiguous situations
- Strong interest in hands‑on operational work
- Willingness and enthusiasm for heavy travel and on‑the‑ground operational engagement
