As part of their continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Sales Manager to lead a regional team and drive sales within the foodservice channel across London and the South of England.
Role
This is a sales key leadership position, responsible for managing a well-established sales team covering the South of England, with a focus on growing the company’s presence across both national and independent foodservice customers. Core customer channels include hotels, restaurants, fine dining establishments, and premium leisure venues such as football and golf clubs.
You will lead a team of five experienced Business Development Managers and also take on direct responsibility for a small number of National Account End User customers. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be accountable for developing and executing the sales strategy, driving performance across the region, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support a team of Business Development Managers to achieve sales targets
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans in line with company objectives
- Drive new business and manage key national and regional accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers in the hospitality sector
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities
- Set and monitor performance targets and KPIs
- Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and NPD to deliver customer-focused solutions
- Identify and develop new channels, accounts, and business opportunities
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring a genuine passion for food and premium products, alongside proven sales or account management experience within the foodservice market. A strong understanding of the food manufacturing industry, market dynamics, and hospitality customer base, such as restaurants, hotels, and catering establishments, is essential.
You will likely come from a foodservice wholesale or food manufacturing background, with a track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share. Strong leadership skills are key, including experience in managing, developing, and motivating high-performing sales teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also critical, enabling effective internal collaboration and the building of strong customer relationships.
Salary & Benefits
£60,000 to £65,000 basic salary, 20% bonus, company car or £7,000 car allowance, healthcare, pension, and 33 days holiday.
Location
This is a home-based role with frequent travel to customers within the South of England. The successful candidate will have good access to the company’s London head office.
